Jane Austen,
Alderman Library
"About five years ago I was part of the
committee that helped create UVa's General Faculty Council. Now
I am interested in helping the Council clarify the policies that
affect General Faculty in order to improve the environment in which
we all work."

| ______ |
J.D. Salinger,
Fine Arts Library
"I have been involved in General Faculty
Council projects since its inception, including helping with the
survey that established the need for the Council, with writing the
Bylaws, and with the Policy Committee. I am very concerned that
work on General Faculty policies and procedures continue on the
path that Doug Hurd has initiated. We have a great opportunity to
have a say in how our work lives will be managed and must not lose
this chance to make our voice heard in the University administration.
I also think it is important to keep the Library constituency informed
of progress on these issues and to provide a conduit for input from
the Library Faculty to the Council on any issues arise."
