The
University of Virginia’s Sorensen
Institute for Political Leadership is bringing
together political bloggers from across
Virginia to its second annual Summit on
Blogging and Democracy in the Commonwealth.
Participants will discuss technology and
the political process at the two-day summit,
which will be held at the Darden Graduate
School of Business Administration on Fri.,
June 16, and Sat., June 17. Speakers will
include Lt. Governor Bill Bolling,
Attorney General Bob McDonnell and blog
pioneer Jerome Armstrong. For more information,

A
team of five students representing the
University of Virginia — from left

Erin Fromherz, Zoe Chen and Cathy Sposato — took first place over
other finalist universities in
the National Student Advertising Competition,
sponsored
by the
American Advertising Federation and held
in San Francisco June 11-13. Land, Averbook, Chen and Sposato are recent graduates from the McIntire School of Commerce. Fromherz is a recent graduate of the College of Arts & Sciences. The student
team was advised by Jack Lindgren (right),
