Come
December, ordering products will be made
easier with UVa Marketplace, the University
of Virginia’s new electronic procurement
system, that will allow users to browse,
search, view product images, comparison
shop and buy from a large number of U.Va.’s
most commonly used and preferred supplier
catalogs. The online shopping environment,
provided by SciQuest, will seamlessly
link U.Va.’s Integrated System
into the commonwealth’s
Electronic Procurement Program (eVA) in a way that meets the business
needs of the University as well as the e-procurement requirements of
the state. Full
story.

What
better way to see the world than through
U.Va.’s Travel Programs, a set of
three distinct
programs for alumni, parents, families
and friends of the University. Cavalier
Travels,
formerly the Alumni Travel Program, features
trips for alumni, family, parents and
friends who are accompanied by U.Va.
faculty. Travel & Learn is designed
for those seeking to combine travel and
intellectual engagement with a particular
topic. The third program — Virginia
Voyages — specializes in walking
tours such as the Scottish
Highlands hike (above) that gives alumni,
parents and friends a chance to travel
with U.Va. President Casteen. Full
story.
