Asian Pacific American Heritage Month - Opening Keynote:
Neal Katyal, Professor of Law, Georgetown University
Prof. Neal Katyal is a prominent law professor who has worked on several important cases before the Supreme Court, including serving as co-counsel for Gore v. Bush in 2000, which contested the results of the presidential election, and arguing the 2006 case Hamdan v. Rumsfeld, which held illegal the Guantanamo military tribunals, which were considered to be beyond the scope of presidential power. Prof. Katyal will be speaking to the UVA community on the topics of race, the war on terror, and his work on military tribunals, at two events:
