JCSU receives NSF grant as an I-cubed project in 2010

JCSU's One-Stop Academic Student Integrated System (OASIS) has been funded by the National Science Foundation's (NSF) Innovation Through Institutional Integration (I-cubed, or I3) project for FY 2010.

The I-cubed Initiative, first awarded in FY2008, is a competitive program intended to encourage higher education institutions to coordinate their STEM education programs and deepen the footprint of NSF-funded projects.

I cubed logoWanda Ward, acting assistant director for NSF's Education and Human Resources Directorate, developed the program to "help institutions draw together their resources for maximum impact across the STEM education enterprise", and to think creatively about how to integrate their NSF awards.

As a cross-divisional activity in NSF's Directorate, I3 promotes increased collaboration within and between institutions and addresses important directorate initiatives: broader participation of under-represented minorities in STEM, critical educational junctures, the integration of research and education, a globally engaged work-force and research and evaluation.

The Alliance congratulates JCSU on its success in preparing a successful application, and receiving this competitive grant!
