Virginia-North Carolina Alliance for Minority Participation (VA-NC AMP)at Saint Augustine’s College
Students, who participated in the Academic Bridge Program during 2007-2008, were eligible to serve as peer teaching assistants. Ten students from the Department of Biological and Physical Sciences, Department of Computer Science, and the Department of Mathematics and Engineering were selected to provide academic support in general chemistry, principles of biology, algebra and trigonometry and calculus I. Six of the ten students are shown below. These students are assigned to specific classes and must attend the lecture sessions of the class. They are also required to have two (2) hours of office hours each week. The peer teaching assistants are extremely excited about this opportunity to share their knowledge with freshmen STEM students who are participating in the Academic Bridge Program.
