This picture was taken in July 2000 at an archaeological site in Northern Syria called Jebel Aruda. I visited this site as part of a team of archaeologists working at Umm el-Marra a nearby Middle Bronze Age site. My Trip to Syria, as well as the work that I am currently doing in Turkey, was made possible by your generous contributions through summer language and prefield dissertation funding.
