Design Review
From the earliest stages of project conception, The Office of the Architect for the University (OAU) is responsible for land use, facility, landscape and historic preservation planning for all of the University’s properties. The OAU works closely with project stakeholders to develop programs, budgets, funding strategies and delivery schedules to ensure that the aspirations of the department are consistent with the goals of the University. This ensures that new projects make the best use of University resources and that projects support the University goals of providing a sustainable, safe, accessible, and functional facility that fits within the unique context of the University. The OAU  is responsible for architect selection and has implemented an innovative, two-step process for selecting design consultants. Our process has attracted distinguished firms with extensive experience designing facilities for higher education.
