Serving the Larger Community
The University is a cultural institution of international significance
as well as the major corporate citizen of the Charlottesville-Albemarle
County community. Its land mass also has an important role within
the local and regional environments. The University's future plans
should seek to benefit the larger community, whether at a local,
state or international scale. Planning initiatives in support of
this principle include:
|
|
Developing safe and attractive entrances to the University
such as the North Grounds Connector from the U.S. 250
bypass |
| |
Making
roadway and corridor improvements along major University
connections such as along Jefferson Park Avenue and West
Main Street |
| |
Developing a strategic plan for water resources and stormwater
management |
