Elizabeth Jeffress, sister of Allen Talbot Gwathmey, gave
funds to the University of Virginia that made possible
the replacement of concrete walks with brick in the Academical
Village. She dedicated that work to her husband, Robert
M. Jeffress, and a plaque was installed in a brick wall
adjacent to Pavilion V. Elizabeth was a member of the
Garden Club of Virginia and helped to arrange the restoration
of the Pavilion Gardens.
