The University of Virginia (UVa) has demonstrated its commitment to sustainability through a diverse set of initiatives ranging from energy conservation and recycling measures to interdisciplinary coursework and Academic Institutes. The University's Sustainability Assessment Report 2006, developed over a year-long process and involving more than two-hundred University stakeholders, details the breadth and depth of activities at UVa, and represents the first documented account of the University's sustainability initiatives.
