Claire Weiss graduate from Swarthmore College in 2003 with a Bachelors degree in Biology and a minor in Latin. In 2007, she received her Master's degree with distinction from the Instute of Archaeology at Univeristy College London (UCL) under the supervision of Dr. Kathryn Lomas.

Claire has worked and supervised field excavation in Pompeii since 2001 and is the Project Coordinator for the Via Consolare Project in Pompeii. In addition to her work with the VCP, Claire is involved in the post-processing and finalisation of the excavations of the Anglo-American Project in Pompeii.
