OTHER THINGS TO REMEMBER WHEN USING THIS MACHINE:

  • Make sure to use the right size collet for the accessory you use. Shank sizes are different diameters.
  • Remember to hold down the shaft lock button before loosening or tightening the collet nut
  • Certain materials (like acrylic) require a relatively slow speed because at high speeds, friction of the tools generates heat and causes plastic to melt
  • Polishing, buffing and cleaning with wire brush must be done at speeds below 15,000 RPM to prevent damage to the brush
  • Soft woods should be cut at high speed
  • Iron or steel should be cut at top speed if using tungsten carbide accessory, but at slower speeds if using high speed steel cutters
  • All nonferrous metals may be cut at any speed, depending on the type of cutting being done. Use paraffin or lubricant on the cutter to prevent the cut material from adhering to the cutter teeth
