Merlin "mini angle grinder"

What this tool is primarily used for:

The Merlin " mini angle grinder" is ideal for miniature wood carving, trimming, roughening, shaping, or grinding, depending on the type of wheel accessory used. For working on larger areas of materials, use either the 4 1/2" or 7" Angle Grinder (with the Lancelot/Squire attachments) or the 7" Disc Sander.

ALWAYS USE APPROPRIATE PPE WHEN USING THIS MACHINE

SAFETY FOR THIS MACHINE:

  • DO NOT operate while under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication
  • SECURE any loose fitting jewelry or clothing, tie back long hair - they can get caught in moving parts
  • DO NOT REMOVE THE SAFETY GUARD WHEN USING CHAINSAW BLADE OR OTHER ACCESSORY, ONE HAND WILL BE DANGEROUSLY CLOSE TO THE CUTTING HEAD
  • ALWAYS have the guard rotated so chips or debris are being directed towards you
  • DO NOT FORCE THE TOOL. EXCESSIVE force could cause failure in the head of the grinder and damage the motor
  • DO NOT OVERWORK THE GRINDER. If the tool overheats, switch off and let cool. Failure to do so will burn out the motor. In other words, take a break about every 15 minutes or so
  • DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN the accessories. Over tightening can damage internal gears and screws
  • NEVER HOLD a small workpiece in one hand and the tool in the other hand while in use
  • ALWAYS KEEP TWO HANDS ON THIS TOOL

  • When mounting the saw chain, make sure the chain is secured between the discs and that the chain is facing in the RIGHT DIRECTION with the RAKER POINT on the left of the toot
  • If the saw chain is assembled in reverse of the motor rotation, the tool will not cut, leaving burn marks on the work piece
  • The chain blades and carbide discs can be used on their face, laterally and vertically to remove, shape, shave and etch wood. LIGHT MOTION WORKS BEST
  • NEVER press the locking button if the tool is on or still rotating
