OTHER THINGS TO REMEMBER WHEN USING THIS MACHINE:

  • Turn on the dust collector when using this tool. Make sure the blast gate is open for the miter saw and that the blast gate for the radial arm saw is closed
  • Proper positioning of your body and hands when operating the saw will make cutting easier, more accurate, and safer
  • If cutting uneven material, use an extra piece of wood to provide standoff from fence
  • If your material is too big to use the vise, you need to use a different tool. DO NOT TRY TO HOLD THE WORKPIECE WITH YOUR BARE HAND
  • If your material cannot be clamped by the vise (too short a piece), you need to use a different tool
  • If your material makes contact with the blade before cutting (wood too tall), either rotate piece 90º or use another tool
  • Clean off the cutting table before use. DO NOT USE YOUR HANDS. Debris will make for uneven cutting
  • Place the material so it is completely flat against the cutting table and the fence
  • Positive stops are provided for 0º, 22.5º, 30º, and 45º on the left and right of the cutting table. When you use one of these angles, move the handle slightly left and right to double check that the position is stable
  • When making 'nonstandard' miter cuts (anything other than 0º, 22.5º, 30º, or 45º), use the locking knob to ensure accuracy
  • To release the cutting table from a positive stop, don't forget to use the miter latch
  • This saw has the capability of making compound miter cuts. Please see the studio tech for assistance with this type of cut
  • Make sure work area is clean when you are done
