Drawn from the Museum's permanent collection, the exhibition
features such works as Kunie Sugiura's sublime pictogram
Untitled Positive #3, 1996, and Andres Serrano's
riveting Crucifixion, 1987. Both reveal that beginning
in the late 1970s contemporary photographers explored varied
subject matter and mediums to produce everything from electronic
imaging to political documentary.
The
nine artists highlighted in Super Size It create
large photo works that engage both art history and the institutions
where these works are exhibited.
