The University of Virginia Art Museum exhibits art from around the world dating from ancient times to the present. In addition to its permanent collection, the Museum offers changing exhibitions, accompanied by related programs and publications.
Spring into Art
Come explore the Museum's galleries with your child, and
then create art together that relates to what you've discovered!
The Museum welcomes 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students and their parents/caregivers for a Saturday morning art program. Spring Into Art involves five sessions held in the Museum from 10 am-12 pm on alternating Saturdays in the spring. During these sessions, students and their parents participate in interactive discussions of the Museum's permanent collections and temporary exhibitions followed by hands-on art activities in the Education Resource Center designed to illuminate the visual arts. This is a series program, allowing participants to build on their knowledge from session to session.
Sorry for the disruption! Spring Into Art has been temporarily suspended due to space constraints during the Museum's renovations, and will resume again in 2010. See you then!
