Sponsorship Opportunities Opportunities Exhibition sponsorships offer a high degree of visibility. The Museum welcomes more than 24,000 visitors annually on-site and a larger number on our web site. Sponsorship of traveling exhibitions increases corporate visibility dramatically. Exhibitions can be selected based on projected audience size and content. Educational Program Sponsorship Approximately 5,000 school children participate in the Museum’s nationally recognized educational programs every year. A 50-member docent force designs all tours to meet the educational and cultural requests from K-12 public and private schools, University audiences, seniors, and special needs populations. Summer Arts The annual Summer Arts program provides nearly 100 4th – 12th graders in the city and county the opportunity to work hands on with established arts educators and professional artists. The camp combines hands-on art-making with exploration of artwork in the Museum’s collection and current shows. Museum docents and camp arts educators teach students how to look at art through interactive, inquiry tours and arts projects. Approximately half of the campers are identified as having family, community or academic difficulties and are eligible for scholarships.
Early Visions Early Visions, a program for high school students with academic, community, and/or family difficulties, provides an alternative learning setting in the Museum, strengthens their visual arts and academic skills, and through mentoring with student docents, builds self-esteem and encourages them to consider careers and college following graduation.
Writer’s Eye The Writer’s Eye competition, an annual literary event, encourages people of all ages to write poetry or prose inspired by works of art on view in the Museum. The competition, uniting the verbal with the visual, encourages writers to see and think art in an altogether fresh way. The Museum receives more than 1,000 entries per year, from 4th-12th grade students, to retired community members. Many teachers in area schools incorporate the Writer’s Eye into their fall curriculum and return each year.
