Hosted by Vice Provost for the Arts Elizabeth Turner and Vice President for Research Tom Skalak, the event will feature Tony Award-winning dancer and choreographer Bill T. Jones, who comes to the University as artist in residence the week of Nov. 9-15. While here, Mr. Jones and his dance company will create 100 Migrations, part of a major new dance and theater piece to commemorate the bicentennial of Abraham Lincoln's birth.
Other events during that week will include an interview with Mr. Jones by Deborah McDowell in the Newcomb Hall ballroom, a master class at the MLK Jr. Performing Arts Center at Charlottesville High School, a lecture and demonstration at the Paramount Theatre, and a performance on the lower Lawn.
