The Graduate Affairs Committee of the Department of Biology is designated by the departmental Chair each academic year and is comprised of departmental faculty with appointments in the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences. A graduate student representative also serves on this committee. The committee is chaired by the Director of Graduate Studies, Dr. Ignacio Provencio. This committee oversees on a daily-basis, on behalf of the whole faculty, all aspects of graduate education and admission within the department. This committee also serves as an advocate for graduate students in case difficulties arise during graduate studies.
