Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EEBio) at the University of Virginia comprises a closely interacting group of labs that work across the spectrum of biological organization. We share common interests in understanding how organisms interact with their environment and the processes by which populations, communities, and species evolve.
UVA's EEBio group has particular strengths in population biology, evolutionary and quantitative genetics, disease ecology and life history evolution. Many students and PIsconduct their fieldwork at Mountain Lake Biological Station (MLBS), but others work at field sites closer to Charlottesville and around the world. The community of researchers and students at MLBS extends the interactions of the EEBio group to include a number of research groups from campuses throughout North America and provides specialized graduate
