DECLARING A BIOLOGY MAJOR |
| |
Declaring a Biology major is a multi-step process. We recommend that students begin the process well before deadlines approach. Biology Pre-declaration forms must be received by 5 PM on the Fall or Spring last day of classes, however, students should allow for 2-4 weeks to complete their major declaration. In order to declare a major prior to the College deadline (the end of the spring semester), students should turn in their major declaration form 2-4 weeks before the end of the spring semester. Students seeking to declare a biology major after the last day of classes will need to wait until classes begin in the following semester. Major Declarations will not be processed over the winter or summer break. |

Form. Take the College Major Declaration Form and the Biology Major Planning Sheet to the appointment. You may also find it helpful to complete a “what-if” scenario (under the My Academics tab in SIS) to bring to your appointment. The “What-If” Scenario allows you to see how your current coursework would transfer to a new program of study. Use this appointment to review with your advisor the Biology major requirements, develop a plan of courses to complete the major, and discuss which major is best for you. Your advisor can answer questions regarding the Biology major and careers. |
