The Blandy Bridle Trail

See the Arboretum On Horseback!

The Bridle Trail provides a unique way to enjoy the Arboretum grounds. Approximately 4-1/2 miles long, the Bridle Trail traverses farm fields, mature woodlots, and skirts a small wetland area.

Stay alert for hazards such as uneven ground and groundhog holes. Be aware that trail conditions are affected by the season and may change. Some areas of the Arboretum may be very wet and unsuitable for walking or riding.

This trail was designed, constructed, and is maintained by volunteers with the Foundation of the State Arboretum. Donations are welcome, and will be used to help defray costs for maintenance, signs, and brochures.

Suggested donation per ride:
$5 adults, $2 under 12.
(A donation box is located in the paddock.)

Organized group rides/drives must be coordinated through the Arboretum office. Please call 540-837-1758.

The Arboretum is maintained for environ-mental education, scientific research and the quiet enjoyment of nature’s beauty. This is an outdoor museum; please respect the collection.

Do not disturb plant tags or labels.
 Do not climb trees or stone walls.
 Do not pick flowers or collect any  plants or plant material, including  seeds, leaves, pine cones, and acorns.
 Do not disturb wildlife.
