BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS COMMITTEE

I. CONSENT AGENDA
A. ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN GUIDELINES, MONROE LANE STUDENT
RESIDENCE -- Approves architectural design guidelines
for a project that constructs a new student residence
on the site of the Gildersleeve Apartment building at
the intersection of Monroe Lane and Jefferson Park Avenue.
B. DEMOLITION OF GILDERSLEEVE APARTMENT BUILDING --
Approves demolition of the Gildersleeve Apartment building
and two adjacent residences at the intersection of Monroe
Lane and Jefferson Park Avenue. The demolition clears
the site for the Monroe Lane Student Residence project.
C. DEMOLITION OF THE HOLLY HOUSE -- Approves demolition
of the Holly House which is located at the Miller Center
behind Faulkner House. The demolition clears the site
for the White Burkett Miller Center Addition and Renovation
project.
D. DEMOLITION OF CAFI NORTH -- Approves demolition
of Cafi North which is located on the Law Grounds north
of Hunton and Williams Hall. The demolition clears the
site for the Law School Expansion project.
II. ACTION ITEMS
A. PRELIMINARY DESIGN, DARDEN SCHOOL EXPANSION --
Approves the preliminary design for a project that includes
1) a new building housing an auditorium, dining facility
and offices, 2) a parking garage, 3) additions to the
faculty office and classroom buildings, 4) an addition
to the residential wing of Sponsors Hall, and 5) renovations
to Sponsors Hall Dining Center.
B. PRELIMINARY DESIGN, WHITE BURKETT MILLER CENTER
ADDITION AND RENOVATION -- Approves the preliminary
design that includes an addition and renovations to Faulkner
House for the White Burkett Miller Center.
C. PRELIMINARY DESIGN, LAW SCHOOL EXPANSION PROJECT
-- Approves the preliminary design for a project that
creates a faculty/student center at the Law School.
III. REPORTS BY THE EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT AND CHIEF FINANCIAL
OFFICER
A. VICE PRESIDENT'S REMARKS -- The Vice President
for Management and Budget and the Architect for the University
will review the new Master Plan for Blandy Farm and will
provide an update on the Groundswalk.
B. REPORT ON THE ACTIONS OF THE BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS
COMMITTEE -- Mr. Small will report on the actions
taken by the Buildings and Grounds Committee at special
meeting held on November 23, 1999.
