I. CONSENT AGENDA

  • RATIFICATIONOF THE APPROVAL TO ACQUIRE THE ORANGE MEDICAL OFFICEBUILDING -- Approves the acquisition of the OrangeMedical Office Building, as recommended by the ExecutiveVice President and Chief Operating Officer, and authorizeshim to execute any and all contracts or documentspertaining to this acquisition.

II. ACTION ITEM

  • STUDENTHOUSING RATES, 2000-2001 -- Approves student housingrates for the Academic Division and the University'sCollege at Wise. The proposal calls for average housingrate increases of approximately 3.8 percent for theUniversity Academic Division and 2.8 percent for theUniversity's College at Wise. The proposed resolutionalso addresses summer 2000 housing and board ratesfor the Mountain Lake Biological Station in GilesCounty, including average rate increases of 2.7 percentfor board and 2.6 percent for housing.

III. REPORTS BY THE EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT AND CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

A. VICE PRESIDENT'S REMARKS -- Ms. Sheehy willprovide an update on state budget and legislative issuesaffecting the University. She will report on the Governor'sbudget, 2000-2002 legislative amendments (both operatingand capital proposals) and preliminary 2000-2001 budgetassumptions. Dr. Reynolds will report on the proposalfrom KPMG to assess the University's network infrastructure,as requested by the Finance Committee at its October1999 meeting.

B. ENDOWMENT REPORT -- Ms. Handy will reporton the market value and performance of the endowmentunder control of the Rector and Visitors as of January31, 2000.

C. REPORT ON ACTIONS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIAINVESTMENT MANAGEMENT COMPANY BOARD -- Mr. Goodwinwill report on the actions taken by the Board of UVIMCOat its December 15, 1999, and February 9, 2000, meetings.

IV. MISCELLANEOUS FINANCIAL REPORTS

Among several standard financial reports, the Integrated Systems Project (ISP) Implementation Status Report highlights current activities and short-term plans for the ISP.
