ACTION ITEM
-
ENROLLMENT PROJECTIONS -- Enrollment projections must be approved
by the Board of Visitors, with final approval by the State Council
of Higher Education in Virginia. This resolution seeks approval
of projected enrollments for fall 1997 through fall 1999.

REPORTS BY THE CHANCELLOR OF CLINCH VALLEY COLLEGE

CHANCELLOR'S REMARKS
- B.
IMPROVING K-12 MATHEMATICS, SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY -- The College
is providing outreach programs throughout Southwest Virginia.
Working with the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center and
the Southwest Virginia Public Education Consortium, CVC is offering
K-12 in-service and pre-service training on how to use technology
to enhance math and science abilities.

COLLEGE-COMMUNITY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES -- As part
of its restructuring effort, the College has established several
programs to support economic development in the Coalfields region.
This item allows for the discussion of those initiatives and how
they contribute to the well-being of the College and the local
communities.
- D.
DUAL ADMISSIONS AGREEMENT -- As part of restructuring, the College
has made a commitment to improve articulation for transfer students.
This item allows for the discussion of the recently developed
dual admissions agreement with Mountain Empire Community College.
