I. REPORTS BY THE CHANCELLOR OF CLINCH VALLEY COLLEGE

The Chancellor will remark on a variety of miscellaneous items and will offer reports on the following:

A. NURSING PROGRAM -- Clinch Valley College began offering a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1993. In the fall of 1996, the nursing program received initial accreditation from the National League for Nursing.

B. ACADEMIC INITIATIVES -- Clinch Valley College will offer majors in art and theatre through the recently developed liberal arts and sciences degree program. The College will also offer an adminis-tration of justice major as part of a degree in the social sciences.

C. LEGISLATIVE UPDATE -- The Budget bill sent to the General Assembly by the Governor included funds for a water tank, the annual operation expenses of the former Mark Mining property, and construction of the bridge between the science building and the new classroom building.
