A. AMENDMENT TO THE MEDICAL CENTER'S 1996-97 OPERATING BUDGET
-- When the Medical Center's 1996-97 budget was presented to the
Board in June for approval, management indicated that the budget
contained a number of uncertainties which would warrant quarterly
review and potential updates during the year. A financial update
was reported to the Finance committee in November 1996. The report
included a plan to submit a revised budget for 1996-97 following
the improved Medical Center figures for the second quarter.

The budget amendment must be approved by the Committee and the
full Board.
