CONSENT AGENDA
WTJU 1997 ANNUAL REPORT - The management of WTJU is overseen
by the Rector and Board of Visitors who hold the FCC noncommercial
educational operator broadcasting license. Each year, WTJU submits
an annual report to the Board for approval.
- II.
REPORTS BY THE VICE PRESIDENT FOR STUDENT AFFAIRS
- A.
HONOR COMMITTEE UPDATE - The Honor Committee will report on fall
activities and the goals for the current academic year.
- B.
RESTRUCTURING OF THE OFFICE OF AFRICAN-AMERICAN AFFAIRS - In recent
years, reports from Student Council, the Black Student Alliance,
the Asian Student Union, and La Sociedad Hispanica have all expressed
concern that more could be done to create a welcoming, supportive
environment for all minority students. This presentation will
describe a proposal to restructure the Office of African-American
Affairs and expand its mission to provide services and support
for all minority students.

VICE PRESIDENT'S REMARKS -- The Vice President for Student Affairs
will make brief reports on the following topics: the creation
of an Orientation Task Force, the audit of Student Legal Services,
and the official opening of Newcomb Hall.

REPORT BY THE DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS
- A.
TEAM RECORDS AND NATIONAL RANKINGS -- The Director of Athletics
will distribute a summary of fall sports standings.
- B.
UPCOMING EVENTS INCLUDING ACC/NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS -- The Director
of Athletics will report on upcoming events and championships.
