ADVISORY COUNCIL BY-LAWS - The role of the Clinch Valley College
Advisory Council is evolving. The College recommends changing
the name of the organization and revising the by-laws to specify
those areas where the local Clinch Valley College Board has
authority to act on behalf of the Board of Visitors.

REPORTS BY THE CHANCELLOR OF CLINCH VALLEY COLLEGE

A.
CHANCELLOR'S REMARKS -- The Chancellor will report on items
of interest to the Committee.

B.
SAMUEL R. CROCKETT AWARD - By means of the Samuel R. Crockett
Award, Clinch Valley College every year recognizes someone
who has contributed to strengthening the relationship between
Clinch Valley College and the University of Virginia. The
Chancellor will announce the 1998 recipient.

C.
STATE-OF-THE-COLLEGE -- The Chancellor annually reports to
the public on the state of the College. He will summarize
for the Board his 1998 report.

D.
MARKETING STUDY - In October 1997, the Advisory Council recommended
that the College undertake an external marketing study. The
Chancellor will summarize the recommendations of that study.

E.
CAPITAL CAMPAIGN - Clinch Valley College is engaged in its
first capital campaign. The Chancellor will provide an update
on the progress of the $13 million campaign.
