BY THE VICE PRESIDENT FOR DEVELOPMENT

A. VICE PRESIDENT'S REMARKS -- Mr. Sweeney will review a range
of fund-raising initiatives and report on overall fund-raising
and program progress.

A.1. REUNION FUNDRAISING AND PROGRAMMING - The report will include
specific plans for the June 4-6 Reunions Weekend, as well as progress
toward fund-raising and participation goals.

A.2. STEWARDSHIP INITIATIVES -- Report on the establishment of
the University's "Guiding Principles for Stewardship," the institution
of "minimum and ideal" stewardship standards for recognition and
cultivation; efforts to create customized stewardship programs
for the University's most generous donors; and plans for a permanent
recognition site for major benefactors.

B. PHILANTHROPIC CASH FLOW -- Assess cash flow progress with emphasis
on measuring performance compared to Fiscal Year 1998, and the
previous three Fiscal Years.

C. CAMPAIGN PROGRESS -- Report progress through March 31, 1999.
Review benchmarks for charting overall Campaign progress.
