Call for Nominations/ Applications for Chief Communications Officer Position

Dear Members of the University Community:

In February, President Sullivan charged the search committee selected to fill the newly created position of Chief Communications Officer (CCO). I am honored to serve as the chair. Our sixteen member committee is broadly representative of the University community, including faculty, staff, students, and members of the Board of Visitors.

The new CCO will report directly to the President and be a member of the President’s Cabinet. This separation of the central communications function from its former location within the Office of Development and Public Affairs will strengthen both central and advancement communications. The CCO’s primary responsibility will be to lead a broad effort to tell the University’s story to the world. We seek a creative communications leader who will allow the University to communicate most effectively with all its constituents using a broad range of traditional and emerging media.
