Demos: Classical Athenian Democracy A collection of texts and scholarly articles related to Athenian democracy. Includes information on the history and institutions of classical Athens, as well as biographies of famous Athenians, bibliographies and images.

Aristotle (384-322 BCE) This synopsis of Aristotle and his ideas is an entry in the Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy. Also see the entry on Greek Philosophy for an overview.

The Perseus Project (Tufts University) An award winning digital library on ancient Greece and Rome made up of texts, maps, photographs, historical overviews, and other resources. The project seeks to serve as a teaching and research tool and further expand the ways ancient Greek literature, history, art, and archaeology can be examined.
The Ancient Greek World (University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology) This site contains both text and pictures associated with an exhibit about ancient Greek life. Sections include: “Land and Time,” “Daily Life,” “Economy,” and “Religion and Death.”
The Ancient City of Athens This site, a photographic archive of the archaeological and architectural remains of ancient Athens, seeks to provide a “virtual tour of the chief excavated regions and extant monuments” for students of classical languages, civilization, art, archaeology, and history.

Introductions to the Ancient Stage available on the WWW (University of Saskatchewan) Contains an extensive collection of images of different ancient theaters – including site plans and architectural drawings as well as images of the smaller details of the theaters like the “marble seats of honor.” John Porter, the creator of the site, also collects images of vase paintings, mosaics, frescoes, and monuments on this site.
