"I absolutely enjoyed the entire process of this grant -- from writing it ... to actually making the concept a reality ... to sharing the students' excitement ... to receiving letters from parents who were so impressed with their children's involvement in learning and excitement in success."
—Jeanette Abell, Broadus Wood Elem., 2000-2001.

The Shannon Foundation endeavors to promote public-school teachers' innovation in instruction by awarding grants to teachers who involve and affect students. Grants are awarded through an application process, and grant recipients are asked to summarize their project and its results in a short report to the Foundation.
