Grant-Making Timeline

This general timeline should help applicants keep on track with the grant application process. For exact deadlines and notification dates, see the Dates and Deadlines page.


Late February: Shannon Board of Directors approves application.

First of March: Applications delivered to Charlottesville and Albemarle Assistant Superintendents.

March-April: Teachers work on their proposals.

Late April: Completed applications due back to Assistant Superintendents.

Early May: Grants Committee reviews and ranks all proposals received by due date.

Mid-May: Grants Committee meets to review rankings and make funding recommendations to Board.

Late May: Shannon Board of Directors votes on Grants Committee's recommendation for funding.

Late June: Grant applicants receive notification by mail of the Board's decision.

Late August: Awards Ceremony to honor grant recipients.
