Classics Graduate Students Association of the University of Virginia is
pleased to present its ninth annual Graduate Student Colloquium, Perspectives
on the Past: The Politics of (Re)Making History, with a keynote address
by Professor Mary
Lefkowitz of Wellesley College entitled Archeology and the Politics
of Origins: The Search for Pyramids in Greece.
The Colloquium
will take place Saturday, Febuary 26, 2005, in 108 Clark Hall at the University
of Virginia in Charlottesvillle, VA. More specific details may be found
in our Places and Times section.
We welcome
papers from all areas of Classical Studies. Please see our call
for papers for specifics.
Past colloquia
-- all, if we may say so, tremendous successes-- have included such speakers
as Elaine Fantham, Andrew Wallace-Hadrill, Alessandro Barchiesi, Jeffery
Henderson and Oliver Taplin, as well as graduate students from across
the country. We look forward to your attendence at what promises to be
