South Lawn Project Update: November 20, 2007
Workers are installing concrete footings for the North Building as construction of the South Building’s foundation walls progresses with the use of a boom lift to install wall forms. Workers are using backhoes to engage in limited backfill between the two buildings.
Construction workers also are engaging in site grading and excavation on the north side of JPA in preparation for installing caissons, and caisson drilling has resumed on the south side of JPA. Boring for a small section of sewer pipe continues adjacent to New Cabell Hall.
Duct bank construction along the south side of JPA is complete, and traffic flow has returned to three lanes. Fencing around the site is complete, and wood fencing on the north side of JPA is nearly complete.
