Venable Neighborhood
Venable, a 133.23-acre neighborhood just north of the University’s Central Grounds, is home to the Rugby Road area and The Corner, a business district filled with shops and restaurants, located on University Avenue between Chancellor Street and 12 ½ Street. Historically an important student housing location, many of the large, late 19th century houses in the area are student rentals.

Of Note to Neighbors:
The Arts Grounds Parking Garage, a 560-vehicle garage located in the ravine between the railroad tracks and Culbreth Road, opened to U.Va. faculty, staff and students on Monday, Feb. 25. The garage will also be available to the public for drama performances and other special events during the evenings and on weekends. Culbreth Road, which is now two-way for its entire length between Rugby Road and University Avenue, is also open to garage users and residents.
