2013 Chuck It For Charity

The Chuck It For Charity Recycling Drives enable students to put their unwanted furniture, appliances, non-perishable food and clothing to good use by donating it to local charities. Collection sites set up after Final Exams and Final Exercises serve as drop-off locations for unwanted items that are donated to the Salvation Army.

Through Chuck It For Charity, the University of Virginia and its partners have made move-out activities easier for many departing students and diverted tons of unwanted household items from area dumpsters and landfills.

This year, on-Grounds collection takes place May 6 through 12. View the drop-off locations.

Off-Grounds collection takes place May 11 and 20, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the following locations:

• 301 15th Street (Grand Marc) - Map
• 303 14th Street, NW (St. Edwards Court) - Map, Woodard Properties website
• 780 Madison Avenue (MSC MadHouse)- Map

Donation pick ups may also be scheduled with the Salvation Army by calling 434-295-4058 in advance.
