2013 Chuck It For Charity

The Chuck It For Charity Recycling Drives enable students to put their unwanted furniture, appliances, non-perishable food and clothing to good use by donating it to local charities. Collection sites set up after Final Exams and Final Exercises serve as drop-off locations for unwanted items that are donated to area non-profit organizations..

Through Chuck It For Charity, the University of Virginia and its partners have made move-out activities easier for many departing students and diverted tons of unwanted household items from area dumpsters and landfills.

This year's on and off-Grounds collections have taken place with great success. Hundreds of useable items were diverted from the landfill and repurposed in the community.

For those who missed the primary days, an additional collection has been scheduled for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28 at 504 14th St. NW. Donation pick ups may also be scheduled with the Salvation Army by calling 434-295-4058.
