Solid Waste Agreement

U.Va.'s share in the 30-year remediation of Ivy Landfill is $2,946,440

Support for the 911 Emergency Communication Center

U.Va. is an equal partner

U.Va.'s share is$673,355 for fiscal year 2013/2014

In addition U.Va. has earmarked $236,000 to replace the current 911 system and $242,000 for computer aided dispatch (CAD).

Charlottesville Albemarle Transit and Trolley Subsidy

U.Va. Parking and Transportation will pay the city a transit subsidy of roughly $218,400 total for fiscal year 2013-2014:

  • $63,900 for the free trolley
  • $145,000 for the “reciprocal ridership program” to allow all faculty, staff, and students to ride CAT for free

Average monthly boardings for U.Va. ID riders:

  • January - March 2013 –32,213 boardings/month

Student Housing Inspector

  • Implemented in February 2005.
  • U.Va. pays approximately $48,000 (salary plus benefits) for Property Maintenance Inspector.
  • Duties include enforcing building maintenance requirements with respect to off-grounds University student housing. Primarily the Lewis Mountain, JPA, Venable and 10th/Page Street neighborhoods.

New Fire Services Agreement

  • $250,000 voluntary annual payments. Includes a new contribution of $40,000/year for Hazmat supplies and equipment.
  • $750,000 for city fire station.

Charlottesville/Albemarle Rescue Squad Donation

For fiscal year 2013 U.Va., including the Medical Center and the Department of Athletics donated $42,000
