U.Va.’s Community Relations Office assists nonprofit organizations in securing volunteer help provided by University employees and students. In addition, the office provides information to those wishing to volunteer within the University or the community.

U.Va. Volunteer Opportunities

Day in the Life Program

U.Va. students serve as a volunteer mentor for the Day in the Life Program, which matches students with local youth to help them explore U.Va.’s academic, athletic, cultural and social events. Click here to sign up online.

Culbreth Theater

Volunteers serve as ushers at Drama Department and Heritage Repertory Theater productions. Call the Box Office at (434) 924-3376 to sign up for specific performances.

U.Va. Health System Volunteer Web Site

U.Va. Health System employees who wish to help meet needs in their community through volunteerism can register at www.volunteeruvahealth.org.

U.Va. Hospital Auxiliary & Volunteer Services

Volunteers of all ages serve in more than 50 areas of the UVA Health System.  Community residents, UVA students area teens and UVA employees all support the Medical Center by volunteering. New volunteers are welcome!  http://www.healthsystem.virginia.edu/volunteer

Fourth year nursing students are invited to work with nurse practitioners in the Free Clinic. Spanish-speakers are especially encouraged to participate. Volunteers work on Wednesdays from 4 to 8 p.m.
