Sofa Shuffle

The Community Relations Office thanks its partners, including volunteers and charity staff and those who donated items, for their participation in the 2009 Sofa Shuffle, the University of Virginia’s Off-Grounds Furniture Donation Drive.

This year's effort was an absolute success. During three collection days, more than 300 furniture and household items were diverted from area landfills and repurposed – supporting the efforts of Charlottesville's nonprofits. 

The Salvation Army and The Habitat Store were the recipients of this year's donations. Exact numbers of donated items are forthcoming.
