University of Virginia Summer Language Institute. Offers an intensive Russian Language Program, the equivalent of which is two years of traditional instruction.
Funding Resources:
Center for Undergraduate Research and Excellence. The Center for Undergraduate Excellence advises students regarding undergraduate research opportunities and national scholarships and fellowships.
Harrison Undergraduate Research Awards. Approximately forty awards of up to $3000 each will be granted on a competitive basis to current first-, second-, and third-year undergraduate students. Applicants must be fulltime undergraduates at U.Va. and must remain enrolled at the University through the completion of their project. Deadline: January 16, Noon
Raven Society Fellowship. Open to all UVA students in support of summer or fall undergraduate or graduate independent research projects. Special consideration will be given to those pursuing study outside of Charlottesville. Deadline: February 23rd at 5pm.
Small Research and Travel Grants. $500. Open to any student in the College of Arts and Sciences. March 13, July 10, and December 12 by 4:30pm.
Undergraduate Research Network. Regularly organizes information events related to undergraduate research and has a variety of resources.

American Association of Teachers of Slavic and East European Languages (AATSEEL) List of available Slavic language courses and programs in the US and abroad. The “Professional Development” section provides information regarding grants, fellowships, internships, and jobs.
American Councils for International Education (ACTR/ACCELS) American Councils administers a variety of cultural exchange, study abroad, and research programs on behalf of both public and private funders. Participation in these programs is through an open, merit-based competition, and facilitates mutual understanding between the United States and Eurasia, Southeast Europe, and South Asia. There are also employment opportunities for Slavic and Turkic language speakers.
American Institute for Foreign Study (AFIS) Has a collection of study abroad and travel programs, most notably those located in the Czech Republic and Russia. Has available career opportunities for people that have the knowledge to lead tours in various foreign countries.
Center for Study Abroad (CSA)Offers a number of Russian language courses in St. Petersburg
Central European University (Budapest, Hungary) Offers a variety of study abroad, internship, and research opportunities.
Cross-Cultural Solutions Provides opportunities to volunteer in Yaroslavl, Russia.
