Analytical Support for the Statewide Multimodal Long-Range Transportation Plan

Purpose and Scope

The purpose of this effort is to provide analytical support for the Multimodal Statewide Transportation Planning Committee, with emphasis on the process of multimodal integration of project plans from the various modal agencies and the private sector.

Objectives

  • Review the literature and the experience of federal agencies, other states, and other countries
  • Understand multimodal system requirements and participation by the various state transportation agencies
  • Specify data needs for multimodal systems
  • Transfer the developed information to Virginia transportation agencies
A steering committee of the participating transportation agencies will be formed to guide the effort.
