Department of Homeland Security Scholarship Program
The Department of Homeland Security Scholarship Program is intended for students interested in pursuing the basic science and technology innovations that can be applied to the DHS mission. THIS PROGRAM DID NOT TAKE PLACE IN 2012 DUE TO FEDERAL BUDGET CUTS.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens majoring in a STEM discipline (science, technology, engineering, mathematics). A GPA of at least 3.3 is required. Second-year students may apply; some third years may also be eligible.
Two years. This includes a paid summer internship at a federal research facility.
This scholarship provides full tuition and monthly stipends. Students participating in this program are required to commit to a year of service following their scholarship at a DHS agency, national laboratory, DHS Centers of Excellence, or other facilities working in collaboration with DHS.
