Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowship Program - U.S. Department of State
Website: http://www.woodrow.org/higher-education-fellowships/foreign_affairs/pickering_undergrad/index.php Deadline: 2013-02-07 (National) This program provides undergraduate and graduate funding to participants as they are prepared academically and professionally to enter the U.S. Department of State. Fellows must commit to pursuing a graduate degree in international studies at one of the graduate schools participating in the program. Additionally, fellows must commit to serve 3 years as a foreign service officer.
Eligibility
Third-year students with a GPA of 3.2 or higher may apply. Applicants must be U.S. citizens.
Term
Two years (senior year in college; first year of graduate study). Fellows must participate in one overseas and one domestic summer internship within the U.S. Department of State. Students receive a stipend during the internships.
Support
Financial support of up to $40,000 annually towards expenses for the senior year and the first year of graduate study. Participating schools provide financial support in the second year of graduate study based on need.
