CLAS Research Grant Applications Now Available

Looking for money to do research? The CLAS Research Grant will give 5 students in the College $1500 each to conduct research on any topic of their choice. Applications are due on February 22, 2008 electronically to clasgrants@gmail.com. All applicants must have a faculty mentor. Questions? Email clasgrants@gmail.com. URN’s Pre-Health Panel

What: Pre-Med? Come to the Pre-Health Panel hosted by the Undergraduate Research Network! Some of U.Va's best medical school professors will come to answer your questions regarding research and how you can improve your chances on getting into the medical school of your choice.

URN’s Harrison Grant Peer-Editing Workshop

When: Tuesday, Nov. 27th, 6-7 p.m.
Where: Clark Hall, Room 107
What: Applying for a Harrison grant or have questions about it? Come have your proposal edited and your questions answered by past award winners!

Deadline for URN Symposium Application Extended!

The Undergraduate Research Network will be holding its biannual Research Symposium next Wednesday, Nov. 7 from 10am to 4pm in Jefferson Hall (on McCormick Rd across from the libraries--balloons will be outside). All are welcome to come and go throughout the day to watch undergraduates present their research from a variety of fields. The complete list of presentations can be found here. If that doesn't sound enticing enough, there will be refreshments! We hope to see you there!

What: Planning on writing a research paper in the near future? Come get some advice from a student panel of research journal editors on what can help make a paper shine!

URN General Body Application Deadline Extended!

The application to be part of the Undergraduate Research Network general body has been extended one week. It is now due next Friday, Sep 21 at 12pm to the Harrison Special Collections Library Rm. 305. Please download the application here.

Now Accepting Oculus Submissions

Want to be published? Submit your research to the Oculus, the Undergraduate Research Network's research journal! Any research paper written by a UVa undergraduate is eligible. Entries are typically between 7 and 35 pages in length. You may submit more than one paper. The deadline for submissions is September 19th. All submissions must be made in MS Word .doc format or OpenOffice .odt format. All supporting media (images, charts, tables, and the like) must be supplied in either .jpg or .tif file format. Please submit your entries and direct your questions to oculus@virginia.edu.

URN General Body Application Now Available

The Undergraduate Research Network is now accepting applications for General Body positions in fall 2007. A select number of students will be chosen to attend biweekly Executive meetings to help plan URN programs and develop new initiatives. Applications are due by noon on Friday Sept. 14th to the Harrison Special Collections Library Rm. 305. Please download the application here.
