Research Focus: Our lab researches how the smallest blood vessels in our body grow and adapt to disease, such as diabetes. We are interested in developing tissue engineering and stem cell-based strategies for tissue regeneration.

Job Description:

  • Assist graduate students with experiments
  • Image analysis and data collection
  • Reference organization
  • Movie making

Required Skills, Courses, Resources, or Background:  Basic wet lab skills and data analysis (e.g. Intro Chem lab). Excel, ImageJ, Mendeley citation software, and video editing software (e.g. iMovie) would be helpful, but these can be learned on the job if training is not available prior to beginning work

What You Will Learn:

  • How to quantitatively analyze microscopy images of biological tissues
  • How to perform literature searches and organize journal articles in an electronic database
  • How to make video documentation of laboratory protocols
