LANGUAGE ASSISTANTS NEEDED FOR SHEA HOUSE

Language Assistant Application

The Arabic, Chinese, Hindi-Urdu, Italian, Japanese, and Persian blocks of the Shea House are seeking a language assistant for each block. The language assistant may be either a native speaker of the language or a highly advanced student, with near-native fluency (preferably someone who has had experience living in the country). In consultation with the faculty of the Department of East Asian Languages, Literatures and Cultures, the Department of Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures, and the Department of Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese, the language assistant will be responsible for ensuring that the language is spoken in the block, and he or she will also be involved in organizing and running a weekly, hour-long language table and other cultural events. The language assistant will be recompensed by free room and board.

Asian and Middle Eastern languages applicants can return the form to DEAL-LC, B027 Cabell Hall. All applications are due Thurssday, November 15, 2007.

Italian applicants can return the form to Enrico Cesaretti, 115 Wilson Hall.
