The UVA Fund of the Alumni Association has set up a fire relief fund to provide aid and assistance to three University of Virginia graduate students who lost their home to a house fire on February 8, 2010.
Although no one was injured, the three doctoral students in our School of Engineering and Applied Science—one from Puerto Rico, one from Spain and one from the United States—lost everything and have been compelled to find other places to spend the night as they decide what to do next.
The Office of the Dean of Students is providing assistance as these students deal with the many issues they confront in relocating while pursuing their studies. Your assistance is needed and appreciated.
All donations will go to help these students defray the cost of setting up another home while they complete this semester at the University of Virginia. Any remaining funds will be held in perpetuity for future students that may find themselves faced with a similar disaster.
